Parents and dolls.

So I was looking at the Volks USA site drooling over dolls I would love to have, when I looked at their price and something my mom said to me came back to me.  See earlier this month I ordered a Sofia Cruz doll and a Tonner Basic Wicked Witch from its 2005 line.  Now Sofia was very discounted down to 20 bucks...I hope I get Alex for my birthday.  Big Smile  Anyways, now the witch who I named Chaos was also discounted down to 48 dollars.  A good buy really, and my first expensive doll.  Now I know some of you have several Volks dolls...and yes I envy you Smile, but this was my first expensive doll, and after I opened up Chaos I could see how the money spent on her was so worth it and I got over my issues with spending several hundred on a Volks doll because I feel it would be well made and worth it.  Now when my dad came home I showed him Chaos and Sofia.  He asked how much I spent on Chaos and I told him.  Later he told my mom "She spent all the money on a doll.  Boy money sure burns a whole in her pocket."  My mom was so sweet and defending me and saying sometimes we need to buy things that make us happy.  It's not like I do this all the time and I love my dolls and they will always stay with me, and if I can help it will buried with me.  Big Smile  But it just made me think while I was looking at the price of Volks dolls how my dad would faint if he knew I spent several hundred on a Volks doll.  I know now I want several larger dolls and well if I have the money and can afford the splurge, I see that it's ok now to do it and not feel guilty about it.  I just hope my dad can handle it.  LOL!  Ok enough reflecting.

As to Chaos and Sofia, I have yet to make their photostory, but I have the pictures already.  Just need to sit down to do the html.  Oh and I made some clothes for them already.  I am starting to like sewing again.  I will post pictures of their outfits here soon.  I will try for this weekend when I am done with school work.  Man Spring Break went fast.  Ugh!  Ok, I am going to go sew now.  More later kiddies!  Shades

Edit: I just asked my mom how she would think my father would react.  And yep, I was right.  He would go through the roof.  I think any larger dolls will have to wait until I move out or if I ever get my business going I can use the profits from that to buy them.  *Sigh* I guess until I will just drool over other's dolls and buy Tonner dolls that are on discount to pass the time.  LOL!

Vinyl Incantations

Well I've updated and uploaded my new and improved website.  It's still a work in progress, but at least the darn thing's up. Feel free to have a look when you get a chance.  I have several photostories up and some other stuff that may be of interest.  Like I said it's in the beginning stages.  More to come.

Bye for now.

She comes...

Crossing my fingers, I think I will have two new Chaotic Rebels to add to the group.  One will be just a member, but the other will be the leader, the ruler, the Queen.  I hope all goes right with the order.  I am so nervous it won't go right.  But I will find out in a few days.  Oh I can't wait.  Her name is...no I will wait.  I don't want to count my chicks before they hatch.  Of course I already bought a pattern to try to make her clothes and bought her a chair.  The other one is Sofia.  I can tell you her name.  That's her product name so I just kept it.  But there other one, I've had her name picked out for weeks.  More to come!  Big Smile

Settle down boys and girls...it's movie time!

I got this link out of a Yahoo Group I belong to.  I thought it was so fun and cool at the same time, I pass the entertainment off to you.  So get the popcorn, have a seat, and enjoy "Barbie Chicks with Sticks".

A little Show N' Tell.

I forgot to post these pictures in December when I got this.  These aren't pictures of mine, but I got these pictures offline to show what I wanted about a day before I got it.  I wanted the new all-in-one Barbie house for my dolls.  It's pretty good.  Almost perfect except for lack of a kitchen sink.  I guess Mattel took the saying "Everything but the kitchen sink." to heart.  Well here are the pictures.

First of all this is the kitchen area of the house. You get everything pictured. Now there is no acutal storage for the items in the house so you need storage somewhere for the extras.

I think this bathroom is so cool. Only difference about it is the toilet paper is attached to the wall and not on the back of the toilet. The toilet folds up for storage. Oh and I forgot to mention, on the stove there is a switch. When you switch it to on you can ring the door bell, flush the toilet, and turn on the shower...all noises of course. It's kind of cute in a silly way.

Another view of the kitchen. You can see the switch on the stove better from this point of view. Also the real spinning washer and dryer set. You push that little box of dishwasher soap on top and both spin.

This is a bed that separates into a chair and ottoman. It's kind of cute. This room can be either a bedroom or living room. There is a stand and you can put the tv on it. You can just make it out on the side of the picture. Kind of cute.

And finally, the closed house. I love the outside of it. It looks like a real house. I must say Mattel did good on that. Oh that front window that is in the living room/bedroom actually opens. That's a neat thing. And there are actual curtains on the window. I think this is one of the better houses Mattel made. It's a bit pricey, but if you are looking for an all in one house for your dolls and photostories, its not that bad. Walmart has them for cheapest as far as I have seen.

So there you have it, my little Christmas purchase to myself. Not bad. Which reminds me I have to send thank you cards out for Christmas gifts! I completely forgot about it with school! I feel so bad. Oh well, this hasn't been my year anyways so why should I be surprised. Ok, well that's all for now. School still has me pretty busy, but I am hoping to have pictures of a new Chaotic Rebel in a few weeks. I am so excited about her. I hope I get her. I can't stop thinking about her. Ok that's enough for now. Talk to you all later!!!

Ahhhhhh!!! Why me?!?!?!

Hey all, long time no post I know.  I've been busy since school started.  So busy I haven't even left the house in almost a month due to always having something due.  I'm constantly reading or doing schoolwork, then late at night I slip in a few hours of the Sims 2, head off the bed, and then start the whole process all over again.  Now I am trying to fit in exercise and eating right.  But anyways, today I was talking to my mom about my sewing machine and how I can't get it to work.  I've had this thing like a little over a year now and only used it once.  Well she said she would help me out.  So I went and dug its dusty box out of the corner and she helped me get it working.  Great!!!  I was so happy.  I could finally start teaching myself to sew again.  Well my first attempts at sewing were anything but fashionable.  It was horrible.  How do all of you make it look so easy?!?  Even painting you make look easy!!!  I know that all things worth doing require practice.  I know this, but it frustrates me to no end.  I got a somewhat top out of the deal but didn't finish it because it looked like crap.   Tomorrow I will try another pattern and see what I can come up with.  I hope I will eventually have something to post here soon.  I want to get good so I can start selling my outfits.  Also I want to get good so I can sew for my future purchases.  I won't say anything more about that now, but I am excited about them.  Oh I have also in my free time been working on my website layout.  I have to draw a few more things before it's ready to go live, but I have three photostories ready to go and changed the layout completely.  I hope to have it up soon when I have the time to finish it.  Hopefully soon.  Well that's all for now.   I just wanted to post so you guys wouldn't think I was dead or something.  Talk to you all again soon...hopefully with an outfit to show off.  Bye for now!

Dunkin' Donuts Ad Actor Michael Vale Dies

Ok so if you aren't from the 80ish era you may not know who I am talking about, but the Dunkin' Donuts guy died recently. I have never had a Dunkin' Donuts donut in my life, but I remember those commercials.  I thought they were so funny when I was younger.  In my Marketing Principles class that I took just this past semester we studed Dunkin' Donuts marketing techniques and of course Michael Vale...the The Dunkin' Donuts Guy was part of their marketing technique.  The fact that he "got up at the crack of dawn to have those donuts ready for you on your stop in to the shop for breakfast" made him an American icon.  It's kind of sad to see your childhood slowly die away.  All these people who were part of your childhood memories are just slowly drifting away.  I know this is a morbid thought, but one day I will hear about Madonna passing away, and well that is when it will really hit me that my time is coming.  Madonna is roughly 20 something years older than me, but as a kid I saw her as "The" ultimate celeb.  A lot of people did.  So it will be a shock.  Even when Michael Jackson passes away.  This is of course assuming I don't do anything stupid that ends up offing me first.  Ahh, I just made this too damn sad so I will stop here.  It's just shocking how so many people are slowly dying away and you know that one day, you will be next.  Ok more cheerful news from now on.  I promise!  Bye for now kiddies.
